Field Trip to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah
Emmerich Education values learning outside of a classroom. Hence, on 19 November 2018, Emmerich Preschool had a field trip to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah.
The students from Nursery 1 to Kindergarten 2 had a blast going through two locations: the Fire Station and the Freshwater World.
Emmerich Preschool students were able to wear firefighter costume, play with the real firefighter hose, watch a short movie on how to prevent fire and ride inside the fire truck. Visiting the Fire Station in TMII was a lucky opportunity for all students as they had the chance to be actual firefighters.
The Freshwater World visit was also a joyous time for these students as they learned about marine animals. Girls and boys had a chance to feed fishes, turtles, and even a piranha! Emmerich Preschool students also watched an exciting show that showcased tricks done by fishes. It was a performance they had never seen before.
"The interesting part was seeing their faces get close to things they have never seen before. The objects in Taman Mini were mostly things that they have only seen in books. Now, they had a chance to experience it first-hand. It was really a fun learning experience for them!" exclaimed the Nursery 1 teacher, Miss Vidya.
Both places gave endless teachings of the marine world and firefighters. Though they were outside of their classrooms, they could learn what they would not understand inside a school.
The outside world is a place where children can observe and learn. The world in itself is a classroom. For Emmerich Preschool, it was a chance to understand the world inside Taman Mini Indonesia Indah.
